The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) develops and / or improves manufacturing processes by using manufacturing improving methods. Interfaces between Operations, Materials, Quality, and Human Resources. The ME will have a participation in the new product introduction in the site, including but not limited to Cut & Sew manufacturing production runs and maintenance of sewing equipment. The ME will streamline these processes where possible to eliminate waste, shorten the TKT and / or reduce costs either in the process, headcount, equipment and / or parts. The ME is responsible for establishing documentation practices including the fulfillment of any documentation updates.

 Evaluates and improves where necessary the manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
 Supports production and maintenance on a daily basis
 Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning production cell work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
 Assists the training department for manual sewing and continue the operator certification
 Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
 Keeps general tools, fixtures, manufacturing equipment and cut & sew equipment operational by performing maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service. Support other manufacturing equipment and processes die cutting, RF, hand cutting
 Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
 Initiate and implement cost savings ideas using KAIZEN as a tool.
 Officially documents and maintains updated manufacturing processes in: Procedures, Work Instructions and Visual Aids following the Quality Management System protocols and guidelines. Able to write detailed work instructions and visual aids for team members, team leaders, and maintenance personnel

Education/Work Experience:

Required: BS in Engineering is required. Previous ISO, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma coursework is required as well.

Preferred: ISO 13485 quality Standard, Lean Manufacturing and / or Six Sigma formal certification credentials

 3+ years in a Medical Device manufacturing environment.
 5+ years Manufacturing Engineering, New product Development and New Product Introduction engineering with 3+ of those years in Cut and Sew manufacturing processes.

Knowledge/Skills:

 Proficiency in English as a second language
 Repair and Maintenance of Sewing equipment
 Can travel to, and drive to and from the U. S.
 Excellent problem solving skills
 MS office computer skills required - Word, Excel,PowerPoint
 Strong communications and documentation skills
 Ability to Present Technical Information
 Strong degree of self- motivation and self- direction
 Strong Mechanical skills
 Experience in Cut & Sew equipment and processes
